People running this setup have noted bigger spark plug gaps, smoother starts, car pulls more strongly, less misfires in custom tunes. It is a far more powerful ignition system using "smart" coils.
The factory system draws 7amps from the DME whereas this places a 0.005 amp draw on the DME. They reduce heat and likelihood of component failure in the DME. Basically the coils are externally powered and the DME simply provides signal.
