Summer tires are dangerous and scary on icy roads....

I actually went through 2 sets of RFT in 15k miles (I thought the ride comfort on the 18" RFT was fine, but 19" RFT is harsh) and switched to non RFT to get max dry grip

Personally, I think PSS is a very nice tire but there is always a trade off. PSS does not have the dry grip level and heat resistance of the latest generation of competition oriented street tires like the Dunlop ZII, BFG Rival, Bridgestone RE11A, etc.
