Use Thai crystal deodorant stick (on Amazon). Best stuff around. Absolutely no smell. Absolutely no residue. Have been using it exclusively for over 10 years. I’ll have my heavy Carhartt t-shirts soaked in sweat under my scrubs, and after a twelve hour shift not an iota of smell. Without it I smell like my old hockey gear.
