Maybe it's different in Finland but in America, at least in the midwest where i live, most people don't expect to gain anything from their friends or pick their friends based on their net worth.
It's like you want an attagirl for being a good person.
When my Grandmother passed, we found out that even tho she lived a modest life, nothing really fancy, she used to give a lot of her own money to various charities when she was alive, i mean a lot.
She used to cook at homeless shelters, volunteered.
She never really talked about it or advertised.
I know in your previous posts you portray America as the worst place in the world, people are selfish etc. But most Americans are decent and good.
For the first time we placed second, the last previous were 1st. The USA was first in giving..Finland placed 31st.
