The replacement for the lower output N52 engines that make around 200hp to 215hp (which, by the way includes not just the 2.5L N52, but also the low power 3.0L N52 as found in the X1 2.5i currently, for example) will either be a lower tune version of the brand new TwinPower Turbo 4, or it will be the upcoming 1.6L turbo 4 that is slated to be used across the mini range as well as the FWD 1 series BMW models. It will not be the naturally aspirated 2.0L 4 cylinder as that will soon be phased out as well.
