Agree, the 981/982 still looks nice. I also think the 86 looks alright for a $26k car. It seems that most people main complaint is the lack of power.

Well it seems more common now that sports cars are an ever shrinking portion of the market. It's not like in the 70s/80s where some cars had 15-20 yr runs, but for quite some time these cars had a full redesign at somewhat regular intervals.
