You'll get more points, of course, if you can dip heavily into the accelerators some cards offer (like 2x/4x on dining, groceries, travel, etc)

I get bonus awards on my cards because the the credit cards are from the same bank I have my brokerage account with so it adds up quicker than just the base points.
