If you don't mind me asking how much did it cost to retrofit the idrive? Just ball park? More than £500?

Yeah I love the CarPlay option and then keeping the OE look.
Cost wise it was about £800, but it could be done cheaper, 1 because you already have Bluetooth (which is excellent ) and 2 if you really look around to find the bargains. There are ways and means to make it more cost effective.
Some parts are a little harder to find than others, and the best way is to get it all from one car that is being broken, although they might then charge more.
