I have an iS due in 2+ weeks and would only have an upgrade if BMW supplied it.
I think the upgrade would be ok if you did not intend to keep the car for to long?

You can remove the chip from the ecu place and erase the messages from the memory at anytime with the help of a laptop!
I m doing it everytime before i go to my dealer . Its taking 10 minutes!
The parallel ecus are almost invisible .
I understand your point of view because i was thinking exactly the same things.
