The oil is a little baby compare with what mining for lithium and other metals does to this planet.
At least an oil field can be reforested and give back to the nature if properly managed. Mining sites like Russian ones or Peru or Chile with hundreds of square km of lakes of acids will destroy forever the face of the earth.
That's beside the point that producing this electric car leave a bigger environment impact than an ICE vehicle.
