Also... that higher pressure can do alot more than just ruin your valve cover gasket. It can also push out and damage crank main seals and cause them to leak aswell. I had a valvecover issue first and after repairing that noticed rear main seal leak aswell.. so went and replaced those aswell...
In this case i would even recommend to just replace valvecover as a precaution if it hasnt been done for a while and car has some put decent miles on. Even if PCV wont cause you issues old valvecover plastic gets brittle and can develop cracks...

I just did this on my X1 N55 motor... it's a time consuming process taking apart much of the engine covers and cowl components. May be worth while to also replace coils and plugs while it's all exposed
