Sony is putting all its research and development budget into mirrorless. To get the full functionality of the system (eye-detection AF, lock-on AF, etc.) you need current generation G and G-Master lenses. Yes, you can get adapters for a wide range of fine old lenses, but they're still old lenses and don't have the functionality of the GM lenses, which is astounding.
