It's all 3rd party costs, value of the car plays little role in the price. Insurance here is ABSURD. Wife has one small blemish and she pays near $2K year. Anyone under 25 is 5K plus.
It is totally and utterly out of control and NOTHING you can do about it. Those costs are with heavy group discounts and heavier discount for being part of the BAR Association. God help those who have no such perks.
So running a 3rd car gets expensive really quickly.

Kind of ironic that its the members of the BAR who drive the price of auto insurance in BC and Ontario through the roof.
In QC, no fault + no lawyers (accident benefits only) = cheapest insurance in the country....
