I have been watching your posts, and keeping an eye on my trunk too!
Have you tried to dry it out completely, besides rags, also a shop vac works well.
Then, get out a garden hose and really soak it good... focusing on the trunk, then start looking for the ingress point. There are so many electrical components located in that area, you need to figure out the source. Once you have it nailed down, hopefully its a quick fix... then you can get out and enjoy the car!
