No doubt the Merc had a performance advantage at that race...no one is disputing that.
So why sabotage Russell?
He had already passed Bottas for the lead and generally driven a great race (better than Bottas).
He was on for the win so deliberately messing up his pit stop achieved what?
Other than making Mercedes look like the Keystone cops...no one was fooled into thinking that Russell wasn't otherwise going to win the race.
