If there is an HDMI or DVI in on the head unit, we may be able to use it. Bimmer Tech has repurposed an Apple TV to drive mirroring. There are smaller options like Google Chrome and FireTV sticks that support Miracast and Apple play mirroring. Just like BimmerTech, we can power it through USB. We just need a mechanism to take the HDMI-in.
I am curious if anyone has pictures of the head unit?
