I became semi-famous in my youth within a certain group. Definitely a lot of pressure and strangers coming up to you, some of it appreciated, but there were moments that made me very uncomfortable. I got a taste of being objectified and losing my privacy, being scrutinized by my every decision. It was exciting at first, but it got old quick. That was 20 years ago and I enjoy being invisible.
I have a few famous people in my family, one is embedded in our culture and they are legends in what they do. They also get a lot of press all over the world and not all of it is kind. Constantly judged, always in the spotlight, it started to affect their behavior to the point where they were just doing what was expected of them because they were sick of fighting it. Figured, they might as well since they are taking responsibility for it anyway. Fame is a curse that disguises it self as glamour.
