Actually there is more "passive" airflow by removing it. More air will come through to the DCI
Your hood will channel the air flow.
Since DCI depend on passive air flow this will not be enough which was designed for active air flow not passive air flow.
Also do logs to see what is best. I am betting you will reduce dutycyle with it removed.
