found my switch
I found the hood latches in RealOem: 51237207225
Hood lock with micro switch, right
Only the right side latch has a micro switch but I will have to remove he latch to access the switch. Further updates when I actually touch this hidden switch.
Moving the U-bolts up one full turn seems to have fixed it for now.
