The problem with those V6s is the torque curve. It's the fact that it has to get to stratospheric RPMs to get to max or near max torque. Maybe it makes 300tqs, but I betcha it has to get to 5000rpm or more to see em.

We had those real lazy V6s of the 80s and 90s and then in the 2000s the high compression ones hit, but they seemed to have a very short lifespan, because everything started going to turbo and turbo tech got much better to allow full torque at LOW RPM for massive area under the torque curve. The 350Z and associated cars of that era seemed impressive for a few years, coming off the 150hp V6s and lazy engines, but real short lived until better stuff blasted them out of the water. These V6s are relics IMO, whether they are 240, 300 or 350hp.

What it needs is torque. Down low.
