Closest that I have done was move a hot tub out of a backyard, that was 7-800 lbs. We flipped it up onto a large dolly, and rolled it on sheets of 1/2" plywood. But we had 6 people pushing/pulling, and 2 others moving the sheets of wood as we went, and we were going up and out, not down. Many hands make light work or something.
Granted, the old owner said that we made it look much easier than the guys that he had paid to move it previously.
