Maybe this has been covered previously, but wanted to share something that has made our Z4 so much nicer with the top up. We have always had creaks and groans with the top up. Very annoying, but we don't drive with the top up much so we lived with it.
We are getting an X3, so I have been reading all the posts over there. There were several complaints about rattling panoramic moon roofs. Someone said they fixed the issue with some grease from Honda:

So I bought some and put it on all the seals and joints on our Z4 hardtop. Went for a test drive this morning and the top is quiet as a church mouse. Of course, now I notice the center console creaking and the seat backs creaking. They should just coat everything with this Honda grease.
Thought I would share if anyone else is having the same issue.
