if the post turns out to be true, would that be because they want to avoid the whole depreciation swing a car takes.

e.g. if you buy now a 2009 and someone else also buys now but a 2010 model, both cars will depreciate differently simply because of the MY, even though there might only be a month difference in them.

although, now that i remember, I ordered my 2006 E90 back in 2005 when they first announce it, so I was driving a 2006 model car for more than seven months in 2005, although i did get screwed with some options that were non-existent when i built my car vs 2006 cars built in september and later of 2005.
