It's funny: I've never had any interest whatsoever in driving cross-country in an RV, which seems like torture rather than fun, but I'd definitely do this if I had the time. I think that the actual driving is (at least) half of the attraction for me, so doing it in an awesome car rather than a lumbering behemoth is all the difference in the world. Plus I'd rather just stay in an actual hotel with actual beds and an actual shower than a poor approximation of all of these.

I had a client that recently passed away. He loved National Parks too. But, he was a trailer guy. After he retired, about 15 years ago, he hauled his trailer out to Prince Edward Island. Yikes! I said that someday I will go to Prince Edward Island, too, but it most definitely won't be hauling a trailer. Just, no.
