So the garage I took my z4 to have admitted defeat and I am going to pick it up this week sometime.
Spoke to Mike at the Zed Shed in Warrington - booked it in this something I should have done last year...
Also I found someone who recommended the Zed Shed to me he was able to stop the BONG by jamming a drawing pin down the side of the roof open button - apparently if the button is depressed it doesn't BONG. If this works its much easier than pulling the audio system fuse from the 'impossible to get to fuse box'
