BMWs seems to work fairly well on my e92. It senses the tail lights of a car 100' away. I find that the real issue is I often have my brights on on curvy roads and in that case it tends to turn them off only when the oncoming car is very close. My next car doesn't have them and I don't think I'll miss it all too much.
