Noob says "Hey" from Alabama, USA

Just wanted to say "Hey" and thank you all for a great forum.

I purchased a 2011 Z4 3.0 (cpo) back in March and have been reading up and thought I'd join.
Just left an '08 335 coupe and prior to that car I had an '06 e85 Z4 3.0si.

Much different beast than the previous Z4...more refined, better daily driver, softer, more comfortable and the styling can't be beat in my opinion.

Just took her to the track for some thrashing about...hate the run flats.
Thank you all for your pictures and info on mods...so far the most active and current information I've found has been on this site.

Anyway, have a great Thursday...hope the weather is good enough for a top down drive for everyone today.

J.
The beast on the track...

Car looks good I know it's overly cliche, but it does look very clean!

In regards to the runflats, I know many people despised them and change them out (including myself), but with the stiff sidewall, they're actually not too terrible for the track. Really allows for a crisp turn-in. Good to see the car's potential is already being tested by you

It was our annual Driver's Education event at Barber Motorsports Park...we had around 85 cars in different classes from novice to instructor run groups.

How did she do?

I help run the event which enables me to run in any group so it depended.
I was all over an E92 M3 and Corvette in the turns in the novice run group but was eaten alive by a Porsche and M5 in the advanced run groups.
I felt like I was standing still when they zoomed by me on the front straight.

I enjoyed the car...it was fun...lots of understeer when you go in hard on the corners. I took some air out of the run flast but just not enough grip and a soft suspension.

Nice to hear that she can keep up with cars with far more power!

Does your car have the adaptive suspension?

FWIW I agree with your assessment that the car is fun but not a "track missile" without some $ changes.

I had to remove air from the RE050A tires as well. Turn in was good and grip was ok but can't wait to move to a more specialized tire.

Nice pic and welcome.

No, it doesn't have the adaptive suspension...but boy could it use it!

Thanks for the welcome

We have this for serious track days:
