You know you drive a Z4 when...

Decided to get one started in this forum. The replies are always hilarious!

You know you drive a Z4 when;
>When the hardest decision of your day is coupe or convertible.
>When every ricer you ever see tries to race you
>When kids at your school offer suggestions as to what American trash you could have gotten for the price instead
>When you actually enjoy running errands
>When people ask why you bought a separate convertible AND a coupe LOL
>When your friend with a 335i wants nothing but to take you on
>When all you see at the country club around your car is a host of other Z4s
(Seriously, why do people with the same make and model feel obliged to park next to you?)
>When an M5 owner gives you a smile and a thumbs up at a red light
And finally
>When you drive faster than everyone else(;

I can definitely attest to many of these. It's part of what makes it such a fun car.

Son, I know you didn't ask for any advice, but here is some anyway. Don't trash talk other people's cars, or where they were built, it is in poor taste, and shows a lack of knowledge and class. A BMW Z4 is a great car, but there are a lot of other great cars.

BTW most Z4's on the road were built in South Carolina, would they qualify as American trash?

LOL. By American trash, I actually meant in a cultural sense, not American cars! A lot of friends were telling me to get an older beater and mod the living day lights out of it. I'm talking rims, lights, stancing, a spoiler, nasty oil can muffler, the whole 9 yards. I'm actually a huge fan of the Mustang GT. You get a LOT for your money with that car. I'm not hating on American cars at all(: sorry if I offended!

In a crowded lot, I always try and park next to the nicest car, especially another Z4. I'm hopeful that the owner is another Z/BMW enthusiast and is careful when they open their doors so they don't ding my car or theirs. Maybe it's wishful thinking, but I just cringe if I have to park next to a vehicle that is in bad shape.

Way to perpetuate the stereotype of the snobby BMW owner...

There are many American cars that would dominate our E89 (even tuned turbo versions...) in any kind of competition for much less cost

...and I'd like to say that at least BMW quality would mean the e89 would run on and on... that's what I'd like to say, but I can't...

1. looks
2. performance
3. bmw driving feel
4. interior
5. hard top vert (good luck finding one unless it fugly sebring, caddy xlr is not produced anymore)
.
.
.
this can go on

Sorry... I do like BMW I really do, but like Merc some years ago, they need to put some profit back into quality of build, especially in their niche cars that you pay more for in the first place. Many have well built cars, quite a few don't too. People I know on the UK Z4 forum are all starting to have similar issues to me as time marches on and their cars get older.

I have my eye on a 5 series next, lets hope they're better built than my car .. where's that 'praying' smiley
