PS. I just came back from Bowling Green with a friend, he loves his Corvette, I had no idea that this car is mainley hand build visiting this plant on a VIP tour is highly recommended. Nice stuff to see also in the museum across the street. In the next 2 years there will also be a track available for the public, the track will have some of the curves of faimous tracks around the world quite an interesting undertaking.

That was the best tour I have ever taken. Made me want a Vette.

I really hope that M7 is just something BMW wants to protect themselves. I mean, to prevent the other car companies to make a car and call it M7 and confused other people. 7 series is just too big for the M badge. 7 stands for luxury, not joy or the Ultimate Driving Machine.
I am also surprised that BMW didnt own the M1 trademark. Weird...

E Series- I could either see this as a economy focused line or maybe a cheap old school enthusiast series?

Z8- Kinda odd to trademark it 10 years after production.

Why? Because they trademarked a bunch of *potential* model badges? As if Audi and MB haven't done that already.

I think people need to realize that just because a company trademarks a bunch of model names, doesn't mean they're necessarily going to produce them all, or even most of them. It's just to have it for themselves in case they want to produce that model.

My biggest qualm is adding an "M" badge to non-M's, even if they're called M3xx or M5xx. To get an M, you needed to buy an M, not an M-inspired model. That's what the M-performance packages were for. But business is business I guess...
