I think that many people were infatuated with the new Z4 design, rushed out and bought one. Now reality has struck home, just not as practical as a larger car w/four doors, SUV, change in family staus, whatever. Trade it in on something more useable.

You're kidding, right? I can park my Z4 in my igloo whenever I want.

Rolf- I'm sure by now everyone has "seen the light" as you have and realized how vastly superior the M3 is and are rushing to trade in their Z4's. We've all heard your story, ad nauseam, yet you obvious that you are still grappling with this decision as you are still trying to convince yourself and everyone around you that you made the right choice. Don't get me wrong, I like the M3 and it will be a nice compromise when I have to tote a kid/dog around but frankly it just doesn't stop traffic like my iS does. I'm sure everyone loves your posts on the M3 forum but this is for Z4 enthusiasts and with this time on your hands with retirement your posts here are beginning to border on "Troll-ish".

I know of a couple people who traded in their Z4s for a new one since the new leases were bomb.

I have both the M3 and the Z4

My M3 gets more attention than the Z4, but that doesn't mean the Z4 doesn't get much attention.

I would take the M3 over the Z4 any day, but the Z4 is an AMAZING car no doubt.

Traded my 335i for an M3 also, so I own both too. Z4 attracts far more attention from everyone except the boy racers. M3 more of a blast to drive for a speed freak (if you can, when you can) Z4 is much more fun all around.

I don't think that all of those Z4s are used cars.

Bavaria's website ( http://bavaria.bmw.ca/ca/bavaria/en/...ry_search.html ) shows only one used Z4 in stock.

The new-car window sticker (a "Munroney" in the States) makes the visibility so bad as to be dangerous.

I think more likely you saw a bunch of new Z4s parked near/in the used car department.

Rolf,

That's ironic, 'cause the question 'round here is, "Why NO Z4's for sale"?

Can you rub a couple brain cells together and let us all know why you think there are ZERO used 2009-2011 35i for sale within 300 miles of my house in Phoenix AZ? We eagerly await YOUR theory on this.

While you are at it can you remind us why we should care about how many e85's you saw last week and why it matters how "sharp" you happen to think they looked?

BTW.... I saw 8 e85 last week that did not look nearly as "sharp" as the 1 black e89 I saw last week.

My theory: 09- too new for lots. Typical leases = 36 months which means there should be some next summer. Used vs new. I ordered a new Z4 for the special lease this month. These cars will be on the lots in 2013 with very high $$$$. My car ordered is $57K with a residual of $47K in two years. Ouch!!!! My dealer had an 08 in stock with no options save heated seats and wanted $33K for a car that once sold for $41. Not good deal in my judgment.

I've been seeing a lot of new Z4s on the road lately. I hate it. Absolutely hate it

Our Z4 used to be unique...now with the cheap lease deals everyone is getting one

Last week, I drove by the first e89 I've seen in 5 months. I'm not experiencing the same.

I do have to agree 100% with you. If I add a Z as my toys it will be a Sunday driver

Wait....you're picking up yet another z....? That's three right...? Make sure not to get runflats!

EDIT: I see you still list your z in your 'garage'...thought you traded it for your current bimmer.

Ok Pops, you're old, I get it, congratulations.. you have my respect for that. But who said anything about not posting here? I was simply making an observation with regard to how your comments are beginning to appear. Besides, stating ones opinion does not declare anything other that persons opinion. Surely a gentleman of your distinction doesn't need to hear this from a young middle aged pup like myself. Now, what's this? You are thinking of adding another Z, when you couldn't wait to get out from under the last and subjected us to your every waking thought about it? The only time you pop in here anymore is to make some off handed, thinly veiled comment about the Z while extolling the superiority of your new car.

I've defended you in the past as others grew weary of your ramblings but I too am beginning to find your posts tedious. But please, by all means do continue as I too intend to state my opinions.
