More Noise With Windows Closed - How to fix?
Hey guys,
Ive had my car for about a year, and ive noticed that there is quite a bit of wind noise in the car when im going fast, it seems the windows dont connect with the rubber around it like they used to. What is a good way to fix this again? What kind of substance and i put on the rubber? Thanks! |

From your local BMW Dealer they have a product similar what is used and recommended in Germany the name is "Rubber Care" Phone the dealerships and see if they have it in stock.

^^Yes, as Rolf-Dieter says, it is possible to breath some life back into your rubber weather seals. In the last couple of days a few dealers advised tranquility that BMW no longer sells its own brand rubber care. Please confirm if this the case in your area.
Give this thread a read - slightly different subject line, but pretty much the same issues. http://e89.zpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=458622 I'm little surprised to hear that after only a year you're having this problem. -- How severe is the noise? -- Do you have any other squeaks or rattles? -- Do you live in a very hot or dry climate that might dry out your seals prematurely? I remember you're in Spain somewhere and I didn't think the climate got extremely hot or dry, so I'm wondering if your windows and roof may need adjustment.

I asked my dealer for it and they've discontinued it. I ended picking up the Gummi product via the U.S.

I have a squeak it appears to come from the rear/trunk area. It sounds much like a cricket and only happens if I pass over a bump or sewer cover. It was more noticeable with the RFT. It still happens here and then now with my Non-RFT winter set. One thing it does makes me very aware not to drive over any road imperfections ![]() I mentioned it to my BMW Service manager a week ago when he mounted winter tires on my winter wheels (photos in my garage). He will investigate once I bring my car in for an oil change soon. BTW. None-RFT are super, feels like a different car all together. My summer wheels are next to get fitted with Non-RFT ![]()
