Ski compartment option
I did not order the ski compartment option as I am not into winter sports. However, will there be the same opening from the armrest to the boot ??? or will it be permanently sealed ? as that space would do for an umbrella or other things ...

If you never need the ski boot (for skis or golf clubs), you can insert the shelf attachent and get a nice but small storage area.
For umbrellas, ball caps, etc, the shelf behind the seats works very well. I've even crammed a few more things there on a trip (extra water bottles, etc).

are you sure ? is it easy to remove or you have to break it or remove it permanently ? if that is the case, then I wouldn't need the ski compartment package as I have already ordered extended storage. can u post some pics of the shelves being removed ? cheers

The extended storage option is a great way to have easy access to the trunk for installing a subwoofer firing through the opening hole. My mod will be ready on monday. I'll post images on tuesday.

I can confirm that too. The back cover can be easily opened in the trunk with two plastic catch at the top. The front cover can lay flat too. I have to check whether the back cover (together with the shelves) can be separated so that it provides more room if you want to put anything throught the hole.

John what are these things?
One looks like Velcro lift tab and the other looks like you can see daylight through the back wall. . |

great pics. that helps a great deal ! will consider having the 35i front upper grill with the money saved from the ski compartment option which is useless for me since I'm no fan of skiing or golf for that matter. but the removable shelf is a great option to carry long items. very helpful.
true what are the things marked with the red square ??? |

I got the 'ski' access as well as the extended storage - mostly due to the confusion above.
Can confirm that the 2 velcro tabs held a piece of moulded plastic on my version. This was the 'ski rest' that was used to secure the skis in the boot and stop them sliding forwards. |

Hi teagueAMX
Under the red triangle is the working for the shelf that needs to be put down for the roof to go down, if that makes sense. Also you cant see through the back wall at all, except through the hatch of course John |

slightly off topic, but does anybody know what that plastic trapezoid door above the ski compartment is for? Is it for an extra subwoofer? (I only optioned 11 speakers).
