Top Gear Reviewed the Z4 this week.

Pretty high marks from Clarkson tonight's show, in which said he would be happy to own a z4 if it is the car he owns for rest of his life. However, the car did lose to the 370Z GT on the track. I will post a youtube version whenever someone uploads it.

The entire episode:

Not quite a fair comparison, that was the 370 Coupe ... I wonder how much the 370Z Roadster would do it in?

And it looked like the E89 handled really nicely which Clarkson remarked upon (albeit an apparent tendency to oversteer when pushed hard by the Stig, lol)

So only just over a couple of seconds for the M division to shave off when they get round to it

He does indeed! Wasn't sure how serious he was with the last few words of his review though.

Can also be watched on the BBC iPlayer: http://bbc.co.uk/i/ly0x6

i wouldn't mind owning any of those 2 cars any day any time. 2 iconic vehicles of our time; especially z370. Don't get me wrong, the z4 is a fabulous roadster, but the z370 is one capable machine.

I was under the impression that M is no longer going to make a Z4 M Roadster. And the new M roadster/M Coupe would be based off the 'next-gen' 1 series.

Pretty sure I read a press release about all that a few months back.

I think a Z4 M would be a more useful car to produce than either the X5 M or X6 M. I really don't understand what they are about.

370Z, not Z370.

Just watched Clarkson's review again. It really does show the car off at some terrific angles.

The most fair comparison would be the 370Z Roadster. I bet it adds weight and subtracts rigidity, making an equal track comparison, and raises the price too, closer to the Z4. I'll keep the Z4 over the 370Z.

Both are great cars with one aiming for value and other for refinement. The one second difference is negligible and I think the general public will prefer the Z4 over the Z due to comfort. The Refinement, which comes at a high price though, on top of my head, will be a 20k premium. I believe a fully loaded Z is low 40s? but the Z4 will be in the low 60s range (USD).

The 370Z has an overheating problem in "extreme usage" & on track. Google it.
Needs an engine oil cooler & a differential cooler.
