You can get a 2006 911 Carrera 4 Conv. with ~5K in miles too for about the same price. I know, I just found one locally here. And it has full leather, nav, 19" wheels, etc. Order that new and you are talking 100K+

Hence it could well be competitive in this regard to a Boxster S. One thing the 135i would have an advantage in is its awesome 6-pot brakes. But who knows how effective the new Z4's braking system actually is yet? |

According to 1 of the first drives the brakes are not up to the current Z4M. But then, that is a high bar.

I guess they do want it to be a hairdresser car afterall. At $60k reasonably equiped, any real performance minded enthusiast would be looking at a cayman/boxster a, M3, or C6/z06.
Peformance below the Evo/135i/370Z/Camaro/C6 for $20k plus is unjustifiable. This tells me BMW is moving further away from "sporty" cars, which disapoints me. BMW just turned the Z from a legitimate mid-range sports car into a full blown status symbol/fashion statement/chick car. BMW, I'm disapointed, but I guess I shouldn't be surprised given the M SUVs, and a 3700lb M3.

despite what the MSRP is, just look at the options list.
things like power seats... heated seats...anti theft alarm...homelink etc. are still fu..king OPTIONAL for a 50K car???? very amazing, they are all standard on a 20k-25k honda, toyota etc etc. and optional on a $50K BMW? LMAO Last edited by E89.35i; 04-03-2009 at 05:10 PM. |

Don't look at Porsche options... * I'm assuming S2000 production is dead, even if not, sales have been in the double digits for months now. |

Fine with me, I took them out of my M Coupe and don't use them in the 1er either. I'd rather have somewhere to put my phone. Would it surprise you to know that I also don't like sunroofs?

im prettry sure "YOU" dont need anything, as long as the car can start and go, then everything else are useless im sure, haha However, im also pretty sure that the "Majority" of people wont spent $50k + on a car like that. Maybe not a Z4, but cars like that has that brand but doesnt have enough luxurys as it should have. Opps, Sorry, luxury isnt the right word for cars doesnt even have power seats, alarms, homelink etc. as standard, and most 20k-25k cars have them as "STANDARD". E85 Z4 maybe is not luxury car. But since E89 Z4 changed it to a "standard" POWER TRACTABLE HARDTOP, im sure BMW and most ppl knows that it is going toward luxury, Obviously, BMW would rather sacrifice it's performance by adding a lot of extra weight to it. BUT, it still doesnt even have those basic features as standard. I believe the "majority" of ppl here are not stupid, we all know why bmw is doing this, by puting these features as optional. One day, on a parking lot, when some1 with a 20k-25k honda toyota, hyundai, nissan, pontiac, chevy, etc etc, asks you: "yo, howmuch is ur BMW Z4? it looks so cool man." u say: "$50k+!!!!". then he say: "how come ur BMW doesnt have power seats?" im sure ull say " oh, because i dont need them" hahahaha maybe u really dont need them, but i dont think he thinks that way, lol and i know that u know what he thinks. u can lie to other ppl, but dont lie to urself. fact is fact, learn to face fact. dont learn to lie to urself. it's a stupid behavior and idiotic personality Yes those basic features are optional to u, but they are actually standard features that at a minimum 95%+ ppl will have no choice but to purchase them. This, is the fact. Last edited by E89.35i; 04-05-2009 at 04:46 PM. |

again... difference between e92 and e93 =~ 10K. If a coupe would come out, it would undercut the tin can version by ~8-10K
Think about that

Both Z3 and Z4 Coupes were only about $1,500 cheaper than the Roadster versions. While the E89 clearly has more expense in the roof, I doubt that the price difference would be as significant as it is with the 3er cars. Of course a coupe version of the E89 does seem highly unlikely, it's not the sportiest thing in the first place, and the Z2 would appear to already have sporty and low-volume coupe covered.

Or a fully loaded M3. Or a used Lotus PLUS a used Exige. Yes, I think it's too much.
