Lower grills installation guide

I have just replaced the upper black grills on my sdrive 23i with the silver ones on my own. I am thinking to replace the lower black grills with the silver ones also. I've read a previous post about the installation of upper grills, it was very useful and i have saved some money. Is there any guidance to replace the lower grills?
Thanks in advance

Replacing grilles

I also need instructions for replacing the two lower grilles.

Were there any tricks replacing the upper kidney grilles? I am going to fit black kidney grilles to my sapphire black 35i when it arrives next month. Can't wait!

First, you need to remove the center piece (silver one) first by grasp firmly and pull out.
Then use flat screw driver gently put at the outside of grill, start from the medial side and push the grill out part by part
There was no screw for this part, just the plastic clips, 2 on medial side, 3 on lower part and 3 on upper part. Try to work it out. not so difficult.

I removed mine in 5 mins.

I was at the dealer yesterday and mentioned that I planned to remove these two trim pieces from the lower grilles, and the service guru seemed astonished that I would tackle such a big job by myself! I asked him why, and he said becasue you have to remove the front bumper first to be able to access the clips from the rear.

Can you confirm that you did actually remove the trim pieces on the lower grilles in only 5 minutes WITHOUT TAKING THE BUMPER OFF.

I'm sure he did not take the bumper off on a 5 minute job. I thought his instructions were pretty clear having the first step. Now I know for future reference. Thanks Z4@phuket

The same service manager might also suggest removing your hand to take off your watch. Your watch will slip off easily... but you can only do it twice.

I confirmed that this is a 5 min job.
I removed them twice to repaint to silver. The first paint job was not good, so I need to repaint it again.
My second attempt just use fingers without any tools. Just use your fingers pulled the grills out from inner top part.
Removing Bumper??? Oh No
FYI: don't use the cheap canned spray paint, this will crack after a minor scratch or bump. (as my first paint)

My next project: DRL (Daytime Running Light) on the lower grills
DRL on new C class looks great

Guys the lower grills cost 10 euros and i'm sure the spray paint costs about the same. Don't waste your time to paint them, just buy them from your local dealer. Personally i didn't risk it because i don't like unexpected results.
