They won't fit directly. I ordered the AR catted dp's to avoid rasp and drone. Only lose around 5whp. Every car I have heard on the net with the catless dp's sounds bad....too raspy for my liking.

Which exhaust did you go with? So, the AR DP's resulted in no in-cabin drone?

AR makes a Z4 specific design and they fit perfectly. Maybe you lose power without a tune but I cannot understand why you would install DP's without running a tune.

I haven't received the DP's yet. I plan on using the stock 35is exhaust which is already fairly loud and has a very nice note. With the catted AR dps I expect a slight increase in sound level but certainly nothing offensive to the ear. I am hoping to enhance the exoticness of the note and add some HP. I have an ESS tune.

not if you are running a DP tune. No codes on Cobb stage2.

It's a personal choice but would just go with the catted ones. You get 90% of the gains with 0% of the hassles. I find that with an aftermarket exhaust the catless dps give a farty sound! Not good. Plus drone and a smell.

If you want the ultimate in sound with an aftermarket exhaust then go for catless midpipes and catted dp's.

Agreed. I had a car without catalytic converters several years ago and it was a huge headache with LEOs. the sound and the smell were too obvious and it wasn't worth it.
