Luggage is due to arrive in another week and a half, will let you know what additional fees are added to cover customs/duties. With conversion to Euro, the PayPal charge was $283.41 for luggage and shipping.

Hey,

yes this is correct. You have to pay duties like tax or VAT and an import duty.

INFO concerning the shipping...

The shipping needs 12-15 working days. This means monday-friday exception holidays... Christmas and Silvester are holidays, so the first parcels should reach their destinations between 11th january - 15th january.

Please let us know when you have recieved your Roadsterbags.

best regards

René

René-

I've got a set of bags coming from you guys. Any insight into the mechanics of the duty/tax transaction (for us guys who don't import on a regular basis)? Like who gets the money, how we find out about it, and how we pay? Tks. Looking forward to getting the bags...

Having done this before several times in several directions, here is a quick recap of the procedures...

The CBP will attach a yellow form [CBP 3419A] to the package and release it back to the shipper, CBP will determine what category the items fall into, that is the material code defined in the "Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States Annotated" (may be abbreviated as HTS, HTSUS and HTSUSA)

ZPost member price on Euros = 111,93 [$160.85 at today's exchange rate], as this is under the $200.00 you will most likely not be required to pay Duty [shipping/Insurance doesn't count in the cost], if duty is charged it will be somewhere between 3-25% [which sets the import duty between $ 4.86 & $ 40.21]. , so as you get your stuff please let the forum know, if someone gets the CBP agent who's having a bad day [wife just walked out on him with a luggage maker in HIS new Z4], and got hit with the 25% rate, some else's paperwork showing a 3% rate may help him/her out a lot.

Note that if you travel to Europe for 48 hours [not including day of arrival and day of departure] then the exemption is $800.00, then next $1000.00 are Dutiable at 3%, and anything above at 3-25% depending on the examining CBP Agents current marital status. But I suspect that there will no Duty assessed as these items are a on-time importation not for re-sale.

This information is the latest and best I know of and is presented to help you get a feel for what is coming, so PLEASE don't blame me if it is off a bit, but having moved several times between the US, Germany and the UK this is based on my experiences.

Just got my Roadsterbag luggage this morning. Delivered to my door without a hitch and it looks great ! (Even though it is not bigger on the inside than it is on the outside.. ..dr.who fans should smile here)

Definitely, it is of the same caliber as the Z4 and I can't wait to pack and cruise into the sunset with it.

Many thanks to Rene at Roadsterbag and ChuckB for starting this thread. I ordered on Dec 18 and received it Jan 11. Couldn't be happier...... Unless it had a self contained power supply with a 700 watt amplifier and 13 quality speakers....

Thanks all

My Roadsterbags arrived today as well, what a wonderful set of custom made luggage to optimize available trunk space for top down touring. Package was left at my door, with no additional fees for duty or tax due. My PayPal charge was $283.41, which is my total delivered cost.

According to the manufacturer:
The height is around 73 centimeter
The width is around 32 centimeter
The depth is diagonal to use the chamfer of the trunk

How's the quality? BMW should carry these and slap the BMW logo on them.

And then charge triple the price!

I must say, the bags look nicer than I thought. Still not enough to convince me to take the plunge though. Are you able to take the bags out of the trunk, or put them in, with the roof down? That would be a real nice feature.

Bags seem to be quite well made and nicely lined, with retractable pull handles and wheels on two large bags. Have shared with my BMW dealer so they can make known to other clients. Bags cannot be loaded or unloaded with top down, but if you have "comfort access" you can use the "convenient loading" feature to load/unload.

Photos and comments are accurate. Bags arrived in good condition, no added duty or tax. Nothing fancy but should serve well.

I got my bags today ordered about 2 1/2 weeks ago - just like the others - no duty and bags are a custom fit. Should work well and happy I ordered them.

I like a little more flair. Nice to see those who have ordered their luggage set are pleased with their purchase.
This Zero Haliburton Classic matches Deep Sea Blue and measures 24" x 16.5" x 10" Of course it costs over $750.

I just received the bags, they fit perfectly and seem to be very well built. I'd like to congratulate Rene at Roadsterbag for this great product (and idea), reasonable price and also fast delivery.
