Flyers have a habit of ditching anyone with some heart...

I'd be shocked if they'd dump Simmonds though.

Honestly...

Have never been a HUGE Kovalchuk fan but always respected him and his skill. I think he makes LA a better squad, without a doubt. Unless he brings some sort of cancer to the locker room.

I agree, hes almost "over the hill" as far as NHL players go but the KHL is no joke and Im sure he will arrive to camp in tip top shape. He has a lot to prove being absent for 5+ seasons.

I think hes got a few seasons left in him at least.

Got too many prospects to come up and not enough roster spots. I mean Patrick already took his spot in front of the net on the PP towards the end of the season.
Plus he's got 1 year left on his deal at below market value and then he's probably going to want to get paid like Oshie. Doubt the Flyers give him it.

Probably gets moved at the trade deadline.

This is correct. Nothing will be official til the 1st but this week is for negotiations.

Rumors are a push to pull Skinner from Carolina, or a move getting Karlsson from Ottawa for Kessel. Hope is not the latter of the 2. If it's to get Jack Johnson, or JVR, God help us.

Tavares watch will be in full effect this weekend. Fingers crossed that he comes home!

July 1st is probably my favourite day of the calendar year due to the NHL/NBA free agency...should be a wild weekend in both leagues this year.

This is what I'm hearing as well. If I were him, my first choice (bias aside) would be TBL on a 2-3 year deal.

With the Leafs' luck, he'll end up going to San Jose. I'm okay with that though, because it'll move him out of the Eastern Conference at the very least.

I live about 10 mins from his place in Oakville (one of my co-workers lives on his street)...maybe I should drive out there and pitch him myself!

I'll be honest...if he doesn't sign with the Isles, he's an ass for leading them to think there was a chance. Just my opinion. Similar to what LeBron did to Cleaveland last go (or even this go). Just tell them no and quit leading them on....

From that, I'm worried if Toronto is the team. They'd be solid...put them near the top of the conference.

What make you think he's miss lead them?
They knew all along he was going to explore FA offers.

I don't see them filling in his salary gap right now...leads me to think Lou believes there's a chance. So once Tavares picks...how many decent players do you think will be left for them to look at?
