Just bought the 9500xi and saw your post, does the power cord (telephone line lookalike) drop down from your map light compartment or did you find somewhere to run it, hard to tell from photos.

thanks

Affirm - comes down from the back and routes over to the plug in (right side) of the detector - you have to bundle the excess power cable (telephone line) in the cavity.

Used these instructions to wire my V1 and they were spot on.
I did struggle to figure out how to remove the console unit until one of the trim specialists at my dealer showed me to use a credit card (or similar plastic card) on the front. This allowed the unit to drop down to the point that the retaining clips can be seen and accessed. Using the plastic cards avoids damaging the coatings on the surfaces. Then you push them in with your fingers, allowing the right side to drop down until it is free. The clips on the left side are fixed, and so the left side won't drop down until the right side is clear of the housing.
The wiring instructions worked perfectly.

Zub,
Have you ever used a V1? You slide it out of it's mount and disconnect the power in about 5 seconds if you want to hide it in the glovebox.

Mick

PS It's also less likely that "the cop pull you over ? " when using a V1.

With the V1 I haven't had that problem - isn't that what it is for?
Actually, it is better hidden by the rearview mirror than if it is in the center of windshield with a pigtail cord.

Quick question, do you have to disconnect the car battery before hardwiring or is it safe to leave it hooked up?

Cabro,
If you have to ask that question, I would recommend that YOU disconnect the battery negative terminal before starting the install. You will need to reconnect it each time you put your meter leads on the wires in the overhead to check for switched 12Volts.
