Wow...way to go un-noticed with that type of camouflage .

On-topic, Z4 is going to look awesome

The front headlights look like an outline of the current E90 series. I can imagine it looking like the 09 E90 with the opaque white strip at the "brows".

Then you've missed the point of a real roadster. I know its going to be heavier than my Z4, but I just hope it doesn't pack on too many pounds.

Still, I will swoon over the rumored twin turbo version, and put my order in as soon as my dealer says they're ready (and hopefully my checkbook will allow).

That car is a turbo. There is an intercooler in the front bumper that can be seen. It also has dual exhaust.

I LOVE what we can see of the front bumper so far in the second set of pics! If the car looks this amazing with those psychedelic swirls imagine how it'll look in production paint!! They got a hit on their hands with the design this time around. Now, let's see about pricing

Hrm they toned down the lines so that's a good thing. This car should appeal to more of the masses than the current Z4 for sure

Test mules spotted

Saw two test mules following each other up Topanga Cyn in the San Fernando Valley about two weeks ago. One was a coupe and the other the roadster. They did look a bit longer. I regret not taking pics

There wont be coupe and roadster. Its roadster with folding hardtop roof. With closed roof it looks like a coupe and looks better than both Z coupes, despite current Z4 Coupe is awesome

So could I have seen it with a temporary cloth top? I'm certain they were BMWs. There was even an X5 leading the pack. I followed them for about 6 miles up Topanga and everytime one would change lanes, so would the others. They all finally ended up turning off onto the same street together.

There is no FEP Z4 with cloth top . Maybe you have seen one final FEP and one older FEP, which had black plastic roof. Z with cloth roof wasn't on road in last year...

Here is example:

Final FEP (production car):

Older FEP with black plastic roof:

And one early prototype which had cloth roof, but that was about 2 years ago:

None of them had plastic or cloth, it has always been disguised. The "plastic" one is primer or a matte sticker. The cloth one is just a decoy as well, a cloth top does not fold the same as a hard top and the rear window would not be the same size; from other photos it is easy to see this.
