low tire light came on
Do I need to take it to the dealer or can I check it myself? Not sure how to check tire pressure on these tires as stems are different than I am used to. Are the tires filled with Nitrogen and if so do I have to go to the dealer to get them topped off?

Even though the stem has the TPM sensor, any tire pressure guage should work. The factory wouldn't put nitrogen in the tires but maybe the dealer did. You'll have to check with them. In an emergency I'm sure its possible to add regular air but it does defeat the purpose and you'd have to get it refilled with nitrogen later.

Check it yourself, fill it yourself if necessary, then reset the TPMS (see your manual).

See the following posting. The bottomline: Nitrofill is a scam. Nitrogen-filled tires for general consumers is a scam.

Anybody that truly believes Nitrogen in your passenger tire is a good thing, more power to you. You have every right to believe it and do it. I say that because I'm about to rant, so please avert you eyes.
Rant commences: This isn't about Nitrogen in your tires - it's about idiots and how they want everyone to share their delusions. I'm amazed at the arguments the enviro-wacko tried to make for a difference of 20% or less of "pure" Nitrogen in your tires. They like to pretend they have a grip on science, but their arguments, especially when they are exposed as liars who fold spindle and mutilate the truth, actually shows them to have absolutely no respect for honest science. Now, I'm supposed to believe that tire rubber is terribly porous, which allows more non-Nitrogen-based-air to leak out than the bead seal at the rim, the valve stem or the wheels themselves? Have you heard the latest - we're not in a global warming trend anymore! The hotest global climate year on record was not in fact within the last 20 years, as Al Gore claimed, but was 1903. We're now in a global cooling trend (i.e., 1970's all over again), and we don't call it global warming or global cooling anymore. It's been relabeled "Climate Change" so they don't have to constantly re-brand the name of the pending catastrophe every 10 or 12 years. Better get your coat and exchange your dog for a woolly mammoth. Come on people get a grip! Rant over: Please accept my humble apologies if I hurt anyone’s feelings (except lying enviro-wackos). You may resume normal programming. |

All 4 tires were a little low likely due to the cool weather that moved in yesterday. My tires were filled with pure nitrogen but I just topped them off with a regular air hose given the the nitrogen thing is just a scam. I picked up a good digital pressure gauge which makes it easier to get the front and back tires at the correct pressure (36 PSI front and 42 PSI rear). Thanks for the help.
