e85 vs e89 Audio

If there are any previous e85 owners who had the 10 speaker Carver setup (seems as if it was a default configuration) and now drive an e89 with the Premium Sound Package, could you comment on the qualitative difference between the two cars?

I'm well aware that e89's base audio configuration is garbage. The sound system means a lot to me, and if I'm going to shop for an e89 with Premium Sound, I'd like to be sure that it's at least on par with the last Z.

Thanks for any info!

I had an '03 with the Carver setup. Now have an '09 with Premium Sound. In my opinion the two seem pretty much on par. It has taken some setting changes on the EQ to get the bass and treble to my liking, but once that was done I'd have to say the two systems are pretty similar, both very good!

I had two e85's with the 10 speaker Carver system and now have the premium system in my E89 and in my opinion the Carver system in the previous generation was slightly better. I remember being disappointed when I first got this car.

sound system in most ford focus's and toyota tercels sound better than the stock 2011 e89 system, person at bmw in charge of the audio should find a new line of work, ridiculous, of course i didnt realize this until after i drove off the lot assuming i would just eventually adjust the eq, come to find out, no EQ! bla.

The exact same applies for me - had an 03 e85 and agree with this opinion. The e89 Premium is good too and I would upset if I had not sucked it up and bought the Premium Sound.
