E89 Fact: All E90x Steering wheels swap over
I confirmed this using 3 different E90 steering wheels.
You need to have an E90 airbag + buttons/trim for the same steering wheel. Other than that, its a 15minute swap. You can even install the performance steering wheels with display. This is a much more time intensive install, and you need to use a E90 wheel position sensor, IIRC. But in the end, it works. Auraraptor, I noticed you've installed the BMW Performance steering wheel on your E89. I really like this wheel, but don't like the trim. Do you know if the silver trim from the standard E89 wheel fit over the performance wheel?

Auraraptor.
Could you please advice, what the E90 position sensor is? I am referencing this thread. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...=605981&page=2 This is an e90 swap, but I used it to identify the sensor. I am more keen on having this on the e89. Thanks for any advice and headsup you may give. I am keen on getting the performance wheel with the digital screen and LED. Regards. |

I am not sure to be honest, I just took the car to the dealer and gave them:
1. E9x performance wheel with all its wires/modules/connectors, 2. E9x sport airbag 3. E9x steering wheel buttons They installed it for me. Afterwards they said they needed to use the E9x steering position sensor as well. |
