Adding inlets and outlet after tune
I am planning to add inlets and outlet on my n54.
I have today a 93oct cobb pro-tune on my car. What will happened after I mount the inlets and outlet? Will the engine work ok without re-tune it? Will my car be drivable? |

It will be fine. No better without a retune but no worse.

I have installed the MMP inlets and outlet:
- The stock rear inlet removes without cutting it out. Stays all in one piece and can be used again. - No need to lower the engine, drop subframe etc - The rear silicone inlet is difficult to attach securely. If it is not perfect, it WILL come off at a later date when you are messing with it up top when removing/install air box/filters. - Remove the downpipes and the rear turbo actuator and mounting bracket to secure the rear silicone inlet. - My front inlet seems a bit too long and is not a perfect fit where it attaches to the air box. I'm not sure if I could route it better or not. |

Unless someone SWEARS they have a kit they made for the E89, expect to need an adapter or 2 regardless. If E89 is listed in the long list of models just because it has the same engine, assume you will need something different to attach the inlet and outlet.

I'm thinking more and more to modify an oem unit. I've been reading that the silicone outlets have been failing over time.

I did the MMP with ER. Outlet side is a tight fit and takes some finagling. I was not able to install the heat shield back in place (though I'm going to take another run at it) and I cut one of the studs off the frame rail for the heat shield as the tube was being poked by it.
That said I have 1,500 miles on my setup without issue. It's a tight and challenging fit, but it is big and definitely free flowing. You want power ... ;-) Also Mauricio at MMP provides great support. Filippo

I made my own custom passenger side inlets, and I bought and installed the MMP outlets last summer... I haven't had any issues with either of them
