thank you guys for the kind words.im following up with my insurrance broker to see how much the premium would go up right now.
2 things i forgot to mention from the accident, the taxi driver did not exchange information or take pictures with me, when we went our separare ways we had not checked our insurrance policies, drivers licenses, or even our names. slim chance he will be filing insurance because i paid him off already. and the white pluff on the seat is not the airbag. it's a hellokitty pillow. lol (i dont have one on the drivers side)

if he doesn't own the cab, he might not have a choice on whether or not to file
There is also the traffic law about the minimum dollar threshold for filing a police report Proceed with caution dude and perhaps ask mods to delete thread... |

i paid the driver as per his request. the amount covers his repair and his work time. it was a mutual agreement. if he decide to seek me out for more issues id say thats out right fraud on his part.

Gotta be downtown Toronto...I'm guessing. I've had a couple of near misses with cab drivers in the city. Bummer. Lots of 'buffing out' to be done. At least that wasn't a deployed air bag.....

Don't even worry about it, it doesn't look like there was an frame damage, so it should be the same car when you get it back. Sid you have them give the engine a shakedown? The only downside is that if you ever try to sell it, it's going to have an accident on the record.

A celebration will be in order as I book my next track day. I've been rolling around in a 97' toyota Corolla that has hand rolling windows. FML

Difficult decision. However insurance is there for use. If your car is fixed on the cheap as funds are not available for complete OEM repair, the resale will take more of a hit then the insurance premium increase and you will never be happy with the car. As well how many years of a premium increase is it going to take to recoup the out of pocket cash? What's your cash flow worth in todays dollars? Do you have to borrow to pay the of pocket? Lots of decisions. I would personally File a claim and as have to chalk this one up to experience.

If you have every asked why your rates are so high it is because of this type of stunt that defraud insurance companies and keep our rates high in the US. |
