I wonder if it is possible to get the same bulb the newer 3 series are using? They look really good. I also saw the new X3 has them too. Very bright from even a distance. Maybe 2012 Z4 may get them??

Im looking into that aswell. I know its still an H8 bulb in the new ones so im going to try and get my hands on a pair to see if they fit.

LOL im already modding a car i didnt even buy yet. Here we go!

If the new stock bulbs dont work i think im gonna get the Lux leds.

Which ever route you go, please post pics. These are not my priority mods until I see ones that come close the the newer 3 series and X3 version as they are extremely well lit in white. I've seen some after market ones on the street and I think my stock yellow looks brighter.

The brightest I've seen are Persian54's, but I believe they were custom fitted for his Z4.

Well once i get my car im going to play around. Ive heavily modded my last 2 cars so im pretty confident with taking stuff like this apart haha.

I found this last night, need to verify but if the stock DRL bulbs on the new 3coupe are really this cheap someone buy them now and try it out. PLEASE! lol

I was looking at the same thing, but I could not find the Z4 daytime running bulbs to compare. Maybe next Saturday if I have time I will try to drop by Peter Pan BMW parts to inquire.

Ok, I've done a little research online on the H8 bulb you are talking about and this may not be the halo bulbs. The Z435is and the 335is is using the same part number on that H8 bulb. Look at Item # 6 on the Z4 and Item #5 on the 335is:

Did I look at the wrong ones? Ok, I need to get out of the house and take a nice drive in this beautiful weather in Bay Area now.

hmm interesting. I dont know.

Im gonna have to get my hands on a 335 and check it out.

The lack of info on this is prob due to noone with the new AEs having any reason to change their bulbs lol

I have installed mainfocus LED lights on my Z4. They are the same that fits on the E92 (Non OEM LED) that is those E92 2010 that came out before the OEM LED.
The OEM LED of the E92 (2011) did not fit on my Z4 35i
So far, I found that Carbon had the best LED light, but yet not matching the OEM 3 series LED...

aha so you tried the new bulbs?

What was the reason they didnt fit, could something be modified to make them fit?

Yes, I have a friend who has the new E92 with OEM LED.
His LED bulb did get into my bulb socket but it seems the teeth are different, and I was not able to lock it. That is it remained loose... Now did I took off all the headlight and tried to figure it out? No I did not. But it certainly not a plug & play like the ones I just have on now.

They light it up for few seconds before the Error code showed on my idrive. The housing and the Code programming is different.
