Winter Storage Question..
Hoping to keep my new arrival on the road as long as possible, but before long it will have to be put away for the winter.
With my other summer cars, I have simply filled the gas tank, pumped the tires to max, disconnected the battery and covered her up. Do any of you do anything differently with your Z4's? Will disconnecting the battery cause any issues for the car when its reconnected in the spring? It will not be in a garage where a trickle charger can be used. Cheers! |

Had my Zet disconnected for 4 month the other winter... no serious issues whatsoever.. apart from nulled clock ....

dont forget that if you disconnect the battery you cannot open the trunk so dont close it. I would even make the latches move to a closed position before i walk away from it by using a screwdriver or something. Those pesky actuators to fully close the trunk are driven by battery power.

Now that is something that I never would have thought of. Thanks.
Previous owner left a trickle charger on it, but I don't have that option. The car will be off the streets for 5-6 months. Could it go that long without being started? I guess I could go by every 2 weeks and let it run for 10 minutes.... |

As others in this forum have mentioned, a battery minder/tender with actual brains should be used instead of a trickle charger that can cause over-charge.
If that's what you meant, then please ignore my comment.

Visited the Z4 today. After approximately 100 days of hibernation, I reconnected the battery and she fired up instantly. Relieved.
Back in storage for 2-3 more weeks. I can't wait! Cheers. |

Stabil in the gas tank to prevent the gas from denaturing.
