DO NOT buy the No Holes LPB for your 2009 Z4

Update: gominigo sent a new bolt which fit perfectly. please see photos below.

We just got our license plate bracket from gominigo, and the tow hook doesn't fit in the tow hook hole of the z4. I'm not sure if this was a screw up or if they changed the size of the tow hook on the 2009 z4, but it just doesn't fit. I'll call gominigo tomorrow to see if they can fix this or if they are going to give me the run around. I'll update you guys if any of you are interested in purchasing this...but for now, hold off on buying this!

Ah man, I was planning on placing an order for this. Let us know what you find out.

Out of curiosity, what length did you go with when you placed an order? I measured roughly 90mm.

I spoke with a csr at gominigo and they asked for photos of the comparison between the tow hook and the bolt they sent us so that they can get an idea of what the difference was and what might work for me. They took a look at the photos and emailed me back to let me know that they had sent out a replacement bolt that should work. I'm expecting it on wednesday, so I'll update you when I get it.

as for the measurement, I actually got 100mm so I went with the 100-108 just to make sure that I cleared the bumper. I'll let you know how that works out and if its too much space then I'll take a pic so that you can get an idea of whether or not a 90mm will work for you.

I'd appreciate seeing a pic, thanks for that. I was doing the measurements yesterday and comparing it to what they had on the site, it came to about 3.5" so with a quick conversion it was about 89-90 mm. Personally, I'd have no problems going up another 10 mm for the extra space between the plate and outer bumper.

So, for all who were interested... Gominigo sent a replacement bolt for the z4 and it fits perfectly. as I mentioned earlier, I ordered the 100-108mm bolt and that is the right size according to my experience. I've included photos below of the original bolt and the new bolt as well as the length that we chose against the bumper. For reference the original bolt was a little smaller than a dime and was the wrong size. The replacement bolt is a little smaller than a nickel and fit perfectly. I took additional pictures for reference.

Thanks for the pics, I'll be placing an order later today. I'm going to send a link to this thread when I place an order just to make sure I get the right bolt sent to me. And it looks like the 100-108mm kit is the way to go.

I picked up a matching license plate holder to finish the look.

I can see the pics now. Fortunately, NC doesn't need a front plate.

Can you show us pics of the front where it is actually mounted? Like the whole front of the car?

Thanks.

Is this what you're installing?

yep. that is exactly what I'm installing but I'm not using the offset bracket (which costs an additional $8). As for the positioning on the bumper, it can be perfectly placed so as not to obstruct any of the air intake areas or the headlight. I'll try to get some pics up for you guys but I don't have it on regularly so I'll have to install it and snap the shots then take it off again since I don't want my z4 with a blemish of a plate on it. BTW, it takes a good 10 minutes to get it on securely since it gets tight behind the plate when trying to put the bolt on then the bracket...and another 10-15 to get it off again. Maybe I'm just an inexperienced user of the lpb?

Why do you keep taking it off?

basically, I think any license plate on the front of the z4 takes away from the look of the car. On top of that, NJ plates are yellow, so just imagine a flawless gorgeous deep sea blue z4 with a disgusting yellow rectangle on it. Surely you understand why I don't ride around with it attached. However, I can easily attach it (in 10 mins) if a cop pulls me over for it.
