Just curious, has any magazine.............

actually put the 35is through a real test? Seems every review quotes the same 0-60 time of 4.8 sec, and some say 0-60 and others 0-62 (100k). Also have not seen any braking or lateral grip data. Just wondering because mine feels faster to 60 than my old E46 M3 and damn near as fast as the E92 M3, and I have not even used overboost yet! Of course the DCT is probably the biggest reason, and I love ripping through the gears in this car. So far all I have seen is subjective reviews

Any magazine quoting 4.8 seconds for the 35is has not test driven the car. All they are doing is quoting the conservative time BMW published. The 35i is has already been tested as much as .5 seconds faster than that. So, the 4.8 seconds figure is way, way off. The 35is should be be .1 -.2 seconds faster than the 35i, 0-60, so that ought to put it in the low 4's.

OK, so is there a translated version available to see?

One of these days I will get to a timer and see what my 35i does with its 380hp. I know it's a hell of a lot quicker than it was on delivery so I'd estimate really low 4's ...

I've read a magazine (can't remember which one) that measured the 35is doing 5.0 to 100km/h and the 35i doing the same in 5.7

It all depends on circumstances, hot/cold, driver, total weight, grip, ...

Was this from HK? Whenever I read their tests in Car & Driver, etc (HK editions), invariably the times are laughable, at least 1 sec slower than their Western counterparts.

Yup, that was the magazine that gave my 91 year old grandmother the keys and a stopwatch and sent her off to take the 35i out for a spin. Once they explained to her that there wasn't a hand crank to turn in the front of the engine, she was on her way.

Or, perhaps it was a 35i they ripped the turbo out of, just for kicks, to see how it might effect performance.

I have it at home, I'll try to scan and post the table with the data.
