Are you running high boost? If so the dual cone setup from cp-e will be better.
It's the same as BMS dual cone but looks better IMO. It may not be better if you live in a hot climate as heat from engine can lead to very minimal power loss. The sound from the dual cone is much better (can hear the turbo's spool). The dual cone setup is used on the world record 1/4 mile N54 powered cars. Hope this helps. |

Thanks folks - I want to run the "sealed" system because I live in Texas and it gets very hot down here. So, the car has some nice modifications and I thought this would add a little power to help feed the others better - dual cones sound awesome but once the car heats up, just sucking down hot air in Texas.

Hey Vintage, I'm curious. With all of the performance mods you've put into this car, why didn't you just get a Z4M, say a 2008? Isn't that what you're striving for here?

good question. this process started because it is my wife's car and we sold her 2003 Z for it, then did ED (best trip ever - second honeymoon). when in Europe driving her car up into the Alps, she said "most beautiful car ever and I love it but the exhaust is way too quiet." well, the rest is history because I am a little obsessive, I ordered the Eisenmann via IND and then said, what the heck, STETT is close to my house so why not a FMIC . . . . . . then before you know it - a few other little goodies. i never meant to start the trip but my wife wanted bad___ exhaust and I like making her happy

I'm thinking of getting one but can't justify the cost considering i don't take the car racing on a track. Have you got the Stett charge pipe? if so what is that like? I have already purchased one! Can you please provide a list of mods? My currents mods are; Evolve automotive remap H&R springs Supersprint exhaust Custom down pipes Hi flow sports cats CP-E dual cone filters (to be installed next week) MGP caliper covers (to be installed next week) iJDM LED bulb upgrade (to be installed next week) Stett charge pipe (to be installed next week) Looking to either upgrade to ESS or Vishnu performance turbo upgrade packages once released, depends which has more POWER This modding is addictive lol Last edited by The_Hulk; 03-09-2012 at 05:55 AM.. |

Performance modifications to date (not that it needed them other than an enhanced exhaust sound, which you can do with a gold tee as I understand it, and real tires):
1) Eisenmann 2x90mm Race Exhaust; 2) Stett FMIC; 3) Stett Charge Pipe (dual diverters); 4) Michelin Super Sports 5) * I can neither confirm nor deny the presence of an ESS tune on the car, but if there were one I bet it would be amazingly awesome and everyone should buy one. Performance mods I would like: 1) Brembo brake package with new Silver 6 pot calipers up front, slotted rotors all around, Ferrodo brake pads, and stainless steel lines; 2) aFe stage 2 sealed intake. The FMIC is a must in my opinion along with improved exhaust sound/flow (I am sure the 35is sounds great but the 35i did not). We are in Texas (very hot 6 months of the year) and with the FMIC installed, the car truly pulls a little harder a little longer, and it seemed smoother but I could be imagining hat part. Plus it looks really cool. Even my BMW SA saw it and said, "that is a really good idea." |

AFE sealed intake 54-82002
Need a confirmation, that this is correct part number and it will work. As I have checked with afepower and they told me that there is a hood clearance problem with this sealed air intake. Can someone please confirm you have this on car.
many thanks, |
